Rebranding a 50yo business

 

Founded in 1958 in Norway, this home improvement company has evolved into one of Europe’s most professional and modern floor-sanding businesses. However, their outdated identity became a hindrance, making it challenging to convey their evolving values over the years. To breathe new life into their image and highlight their attention to detail, they sought a modern visual language.

 

 

Challenge

 

Undertaking the transition of the business to a modern and artistic identity while retaining its traditional values.

We are fond of the intricate puzzles that wooden floors create with their various motifs, and we aimed to incorporate this concept into our visual identity. The mark is based on squares, representing the layers of a wooden floor. Treating each of these layers deeply goes beyond a simple service, it is considered an art.

THE BRAND

Welcome to our universe warrior.
This is a place to find fantastic coffee as a weapon for your adventures.
Brawl is an internet coffee place, that combines quality coffee
and a strong gaming network. The shop is divided in two. The front place
is a street cafe and going back you will witness a high-tech environment
to cover your gaming needs, in streaming, gaming, and communication.
You will also find a special room built for teams and competitive setups.

THE CHALLENGE

We wanted to combine those two services in their branding. Having
a modern street cafe identity but without losing the gaming character.
And this was the big challenge in this project.
So how do you combine two different services while keeping
them equal in value?

THE RESOLVE

Brawl is a constant battle, a fight where everyone takes part and everyone
wants to win. The fight goes on to infinity, as both coffee and gaming services
are worthy challengers. Brawl is a place to enjoy both.
We created a custom font to embrace our rich content values, as we wanted
to be seen as bold, loud, and modern barbarians.

How would someone respond to Conan the Barbarian,
when he comes in our house and asks for a cup of coffee?
Your words must be filled with power, respect, and acknowledgment
of the adventurer. It is not just coffee and gaming…
..it is an experience.

The Abacus Partners is a business dealing with health consultancy, marketing and IT services. I was invited from their team to assist them with a corporate logo design that will assist them in having a strong voice about who they are. Their service is focused in creating connections on patients and surgeons, simplifying the process and ensuring finding the perfect match for your problem. We are now in process of finilizing the logo design, we are focused on the first concept which is just amazing.
